Happy New Year!!!!

"Here we all are again. Another year flies by and its time to crown a..." New Year. Once every 365 (or so) days we have the chance to start over again, even if it's just symbolically. One of the great things about life is that it is made up of cycles. Ever so often we come full circle and have the chance to mull over the lessons we have garnered during the previous cycle.A year is a cycle of sorts. At the beginning we can recall what we learned from the previous year; recall fondly the good times we had, and not so fondly the bad times which might have taught us lesson we were unwilling to learn. At the approach of the New Year we can look forward to continuing to learn or develop something we started and look forward the new experiences, friendships and relations. And attitude of expectancy and of hope will take us far in meeting the challenges that will lay ahead.

It is always honorable to pause and remember those who left us for new life. The loves ones, the friends and family, the noted and well-known and those who may have passed unnoticed. They all gave us things that we will always cherish and will recall when we think of their energy.

So as we face the New Year with new possibilities and opportunities, let us bring in and call up all those things that will make the world a better place: charity to our fellows, a kind word to a hopeless stranger, care for our elders, sharing laughter with a child, and starting to put the cares of others before our own.
